Friday 56 and Book Beginnings {The 100 Society by Carla Spradbery}

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice, as well as Book Beginnings which is hosted by Rose City Reader.  Post one or a few sentences from page or percentage 56 from any book, as well as the first sentence (or sentences) of a book you would like to highlight.

Title: The 100 Society
Author: Carla Spradbery
Published: September 4th, 2014 by Hodder Children's Books

Page 56:
At the table, Pete sniffed deeply.  “This isn’t right,’ he said.  “We shouldn’t just be acting like nothing’s happened.  Maybe Trick was right, maybe we should call someone.’
‘No.’ Faith took the chair on Pete’s other side and rubbed his shoulder.  ‘We can’t, it’s too late.’

First Sentence:
Grace Becker searched the star-flecked horizon for something to focus on, anything to stop her from looking down as she inched her way along the ledge.  Pressing her back as close to the brickwork as she could, she used her fingers to feel her way along the outer wall of the bridge.

Why This Quote?
This book really brought me back to when I loved watching B horror films.  They were not particularly scary or had the best plot and characters, but they were really fun.  I thought this book was a lot like that.  Unfortunately the quotes from above don’t describe this book that well, but I did think it was a fun read.
