Title: Every Last Breath
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: July 28th, 2015 by Harlequin Teen

Some loves will last ’til your dying breath

Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.

Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.

Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

Why This Book?
I will read anything that Jennifer L. Armentrout writes! She is absolutely amazing.  I read the prequel to this book and loved it…I have no idea why I have not continued on with the series yet.  I cannot wait for this book to come out and I will defiantly be purchasing it.

Title: Ruthless
Author: Carolyn Lee Adams
Published: July 14th, 2015 by Simon Pulse

A spine-tingling debut about the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse in reverse as a teen struggles to retain hope—and her sanity—while on the run from a cunning and determined killer.

Ruth Carver has always competed like her life depends on it. Ambitious. Tough. Maybe even mean. It’s no wonder people call her Ruthless.

When she wakes up with a concussion in the bed of a moving pickup trick, she realizes she has been entered into a contest she can’t afford to lose.

At a remote, rotting cabin deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Ruth’s blindfold comes off and she comes face-to-face with her captor. A man who believes his mission is to punish bad girls like Ruth. A man who has done this six times before.

The other girls were never heard from again, but Ruth won’t go down easy. She escapes into the wilderness, but her hunter is close at her heels. That’s when the real battle begins. That’s when Ruth must decide just how far she’ll go in order to survive.

Back home, they called her Ruthless. They had no idea just how right they were.

Zara Pritchard is a has-been. If she wins the show, this could be the break she needs.

There's just one problem - her partner.

Ty Randall is a MMA bad boy looking to fix his image problem. Sure, he's got the nickname of 'Ty the MMA Biter'. Sure, he might have bit a guy's nose off in the cage. But putting him on a reality TV show? A skating reality TV show? He's not interested. He'll do the minimum to fix his image and call it a day.

But when wash-out meets flame-out, sparks fly and tempers flare. And Ty and Zara start to realize that maybe this partnership might be just as steamy off the ice as on it...

{Review}
I am disappointed to admit that this is my least favorite book out of this series so far.  I loved the first two and thought they were really fun, but this one fell flat.  I found myself waiting to feel connected to the characters, their relationship, or the plot, but it never happened.  I would have probably chosen to skip this book if I would have known that it did not have any connection with the previous books.

As with all of the books in this series, it focuses on a reality competition show.  This book focuses on a show very similar to Dancing with the Stars, but on ice.  Unlike the previous books, this one does not focus on the completion as much, which made me not enjoy the book as much.  One of the reasons I love these books is because it adds the reality TV show aspect.

I also thought that the relationship between Ty and Zara was not genuine and progressed out of nothing.  I felt like they went from cold to hot within a few pages.  I also did not find Ty swoon-worthy at all.  I also did not think that I would like the lead guy from the second book, Playing Games, but Myles was able to make Liam relatable and charming.  I was hoping that this would happen with Ty, but unfortunately, it did not.  I did not like Zara at all.  I thought that the previous main characters were charming and funny, but Zara lacked being relatable.  I do have to admit that the main characters from the first two books were pretty much the same character with a different name, but Zara most defiantly differed from the other girls.

I felt that because this book was so short, it really hindered its full potential.  I am most defiantly going to continue on with this series because it is really fun and addicting, but I would recommend others to skip this book in this series.

Why This Book?
I have yet to read the first book yet, but I really want to. I have heard that the first book has some crazy twists that took readers by surprise.  I also love the concept of the books, plus, the covers are gorgeous!
