Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

This was another AMAZING book from Jennifer L Armentrout!  If you have not read one of her books yet, you need to…pick any one of them because they are all fantastic, but just do it now!  I have not met one person who does not find Armentrout’s writing fun and addictive.  She is also a writing machine so she is constantly writing new books in different genres.  I would highly recommend all of her series.

Now back to Wicked, which was such a fun ride.  I liked the plot to this book and although it was not super original, Armentrout threw in a lot of twists and turns along the way.  I thought the pacing for this book was perfect!  It had just enough slow character development and fast paced adventure.

I really enjoyed the main character, Ivy.  I liked how independent and sassy she was.  I cannot wait to read the other books in this series to delve deeper into her past.  And I absolutely loved Ren!  I think he might be one of my favorite guys written by Armentrout.  He was witty, mysterious and seriously good looking.  I loved that the relationship between Ivy and Ren was slow burning and the pay off was great!  I also can’t not mention Tink!  He was hilariously spunky.  I also love the banter between him and Ren.  I can’t wait to watch it continue into the next book.

Overall, this was another great series from Armentrout.  It was not spectacularly unique, but it was fun and addictive with great, relatable characters.  The end does leave off on a cliff hanger, so be prepared.  I think the end was predictable, but I am absolutely loving where this series is heading.  You better believe that I will be picking up the second and third book!
