We fell in love on a beach, got married in paradise, and I carried her off into the sunset. It should have been perfect, but saying “I do” doesn’t guarantee a happily-ever-after.

Two years later, I barely recognize either of us behind the walls we’ve built.

It’s time to bring it full circle. Back to a tropical paradise. Back to find out if we can still make this work.

I’m not willing to give her up, but to save us, I have to risk everything.

Two damaged people.

Countless secrets.

The fight of our lives.

We might be broken, but we’re not done.

This was my first book by Meghan March and I already NEED more!  I thought this was an amazing, fast-paced adventure and it has definitely made my re-read TBR.  This book grabbed my attention from page one and then blew me away the more I delved deeper into the plot.  This is a book I highly recommend if you like a good romance read full of intense drama, action and all the feels.

March’s writing was perfection.  This book is in dual POV, switching between the two main characters Dane and Kat.  This allowed readers into the mind of both characters, but surprisingly did not deluge the mystery that revolved around one of their pasts.  The relationship they share is developed through flashbacks revolving around the beginning of their romance and the progression it took to get to the shattered relationship they have now.  I loved this aspect because it slowly revealed secrets and the character’s actions in the present.

I really enjoyed both the main characters.  Dane was protective, brooding and overall swoon-worthy.  Kat was very relatable and sweet, but with a sassy edge.  I also really liked the side characters, but don’t really want to go into too much detail for fear of revealing essential elements of the plot.

I really enjoyed the romance because it felt very authentic and genuine.  Sometimes I struggle with romances that don’t begin from the start of the relationship because it hinders the connection I have with it, but this book was perfect.  The struggles that they had to endure from the walls they built made them feel even more ‘real’.  This was definitely one of my favorite romances!

Overall, I LOVED this book!  It was very enjoyable and I can’t wait to expand my reads from this author.  This book review was one of the hardest I have had to write because of the mystery that is so integrated into the plot.  I would HIGHLY recommend going into this book blind as not to ruin any aspects of it.  I think that this book would have been a 5 star read for me if I would not have known so much about the plot.

“In fairy tales, the wedding is always followed by and they lived happily ever after.  In real life, I do just means the real work begins.”
