Book Review: Broken Trust by Jaymin Eve and Tate James

Broken Trust by Jaymin Eve and Tate James
Series: Dark Legacy #2
Source: Kindle Unlimited
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance

They think they own me now. They think they’ve won, and that I’ll be their good little soldier.

Four dangerous, damaged, messed up boys. There used to be five, but one of them died, and I’m starting to suspect he was murdered.

I didn't ask for this. No one would ask to be played, manipulated, seduced and betrayed. But that’s what happened, anyway.

It wasn’t enough for them to break me. Sebastian Beckett has decided that he can’t let me go, but I refuse to forgive and forget his betrayal so easily. His fixation is bordering on obsession, but when we begin to suspect a spy within Delta, there’s no time to deal with his feelings.

Someone is selling us out, and it’s having a dire impact.

It’s life and death hiding behind corporate greed.

Let the battle begin.

I just love this series! It is so addictive and kinda gives me Eagle Elite by Rachel Van Dyken vibes (well, the first two books). Book one leaves off on a cliff hanger and we come into the second book with Riley mad at the boys about the previous events. This book was great and really expanded on and cemented the connections between all of the characters.

The dark and corrupt world was expanded on so brilliantly. There were so many twists and turns that just made the plot more intricate and f'ed up. I don't want to talk too much about the plot because there are so many elements that tie into each other and I don't want to destroy other reader's experience reading this. Just get ready for all new mysteries to be introduced and to be immersed in all of it.

The romance was ampted up in this one and I was literally left panting. I love that Beck is so protective over Riley. He knows that she is naive to this new world and does everything in his power to keep her safe. And Beck's nickname for Riley: Butterfly. Swoon!!!

This book was action packed, full of mystery, and everything that readers loved in book one was just taken up a notch in this book. The drama, angst and relationships were all on point. If you love enemies to lovers romance, this is one of those books that you kick yourself for not starting it sooner!
